Arthouse Houston presents the 25th Anniversary of SUITS: THE CLOTHES MAKE THE MAN, the acclaimed road trip film by Director W. Ross Wells and Producer Meredith Melville, documenting the ART GUYS (Michael Galbreth and Jack Massing) and their tour of their multidisciplinary performance art project by the same name.
Here they explore the connection between fashion, art, and commerce in a project that only these irrepressible mavericks could have conceived! The two Houston-based artists spent a year crisscrossing the country wearing suits by designer Todd Oldham on which they had sold advertising space to 56 American companies. Suits captures their often hilarious experiences in their guise as human billboards. The SUITS are now part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston. This event will also act as a benefit for the ORANGE SHOW OF VISIONARY ARTS.
Short films before the feature include:
Houston a Love Letter in Black & White by Cooper Sukaly
David Best: TEMPLE by Jon Conner
