Lear's Legacy Cat Rescue was founded in 2024 by University of Houston alumni to honor the memory of Lear, a beloved cat who lived on campus with his partner, Momma. Together, they became a source of comfort and joy for students, offering a peaceful place to unwind after exams or enjoy each other’s peaceful presence.
When Lear passed away unexpectedly, his impact on those who knew him became the inspiration for Lear's Legacy. Our mission is to carry on his love through dedicated cat rescue and colony management, while honoring the bond Lear and Momma shared with so many. Through our efforts, we aim to create a lasting legacy of kindness for all cats in need..

The festival is a live event that gathers feline fanatics together to enjoy a curated collection of cat clips in a social setting. This all-new, all-cat-tastic video showcase is a true kitty rumpus featuring a fresh selection of hilarious, heartwarming and downright adorable cat clips compiled by Will Braden, creator of the beloved Henri, le Chat Noir videos. This brand-new show for 2026 features approximately 100 videos starring more cats than you can shake a feather cat toy at.
