The Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Houston proudly presents Topsy-Turvy, directed by Mike Leigh. Arrive 15 minutes early to enjoy selected Gilbert & Sullivan arias sung by the Society!
In TOPSY-TURVY, after Gilbert and Sullivan's latest play is critically panned, the frustrated team threatens to disband until they are inspired to do their masterpiece, "The Mikado."
The Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Houston, founded in 1952, is Houston’s oldest opera company and is dedicated to preserving and sharing the delightful comic operas of the Victorian-era team of W. S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan. Every summer in late-July, the Society stages a theater production of one of their ten major comic operas; this summer’s production is the Venetian farce, The Gondoliers.
