ZOOT SUIT is a powerful cinematic experience that brings audiences into the heart of Chicano history, culture, and resistance. Blending music, theater, and storytelling, the film explores identity, injustice, and community through the lens of a pivotal moment in American history. Directed by Luis Valdez and starring Daniel Valdez and Edward James Olmos, Zoot Suit remains as urgent and electrifying today as when it first premiered.
**Guests are encouraged to wear Zoot Suit era–inspired attire. A photographer will be on-site to capture the fashion, community, and culture on display.
ZOOT SUIT is included in the 10th Anniversary Houston Latino Film Festival going on March 18-22, and presented in collaboration with Chicano Boulevard. The evening will be hosted by Isaac Rodriguez “Mr Simmer Down”.This retrospective screening is part of CINEMÁS, a monthly film program by Houston Latino Film Festival in collaboration with Star Cinema Grill.
