ROCO Connections returns to the River Oaks Theatre with a spooky celebration of silent film and live music! Led by guest conductor and composer Andrew Earle Simpson, the program features film scores performed by a live chamber ensemble, alongside the 1925 horror classic The Phantom of the Opera and Disney’s The Skeleton Dance.
With a new score for The Phantom of the Opera composed by Simpson, audiences will experience the magic of early cinema and one of film history’s most iconic thrillers in a vibrant, reimagined format. Also featured is a new arrangement of Carl Stalling's score for The Skeleton Dance and an entr’acte performance of Bohuslav Martinů’s La revue de cuisine. This one-night-only event is a must for “spooky season” enthusiasts, film buffs, music lovers, and anyone looking for a fun night out!
